The government released an all-new version of the National Planning Policy Framework 2026 (NPPF) on August 17th 2026, mid-way through the Regulation 19 Consultation. The draft Local Plan (July 2026) was developed using the now superseded NPPF (2024) but will be examined using the new NPPF. This means all references in the draft plan to policy according to the 2024 NPPF are now outdated and obsolete and require a draft plan review and update by DDDC, so that the draft plan conforms to the new NPPF 2026 when presented to the inspector. Darley Dale Town Council have raised this in their Regulation 19 official reply.
