Supporting our Community

We presented two grant cheques at the end of 2023 to Derbyshire Federation of Mental Health (DFMH) and Jigsaw Foodbank.

DFMH, based in Darley Dale have identified that local people accessing the group’s services need additional support to manage day-to-day activities. The stress and anxiety caused by managing finances, homes, and families are ever increasing.

The money will support the group’s expansion across their Direct Support Program by introducing additional life skills group sessions. The aim is to engage more local people by building a sense of community at the Greenaway Wellbeing Hub.

Dawn Hall, Business Support & HR Manager said “DFMH would like to say a big thank you to Darley Dale Town Council for their donation of £1,000 and their continued support to DFMH who continue to support local communities in Derbyshire with their Mental Health.”

We are very lucky to have such an amazing mental health support service provider based in Darley Dale!

Jigsaw Foodbank received a grant cheque for £1,000 to enable them to buy non-food items. Ian Cowin, Trustee said, “Our aims are to provide food and non-food items to those who are in need so that they have all their needs met rather than just a basic food parcel. The grant will enable us to cover essentials not often provided by foodbanks. We will use the grant to purchase toiletries, period products, childcare products and pet food for our foodbank clients for which we receive no direct donations.”
