Welcome

The next Planning Committee Meeting will be held on Monday 14th October and our Full Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday 16th October both at 7pm in The Whitworth.

Welcome to Darley Dale

Darley Dale is situated between Matlock and Bakewell, two of the most popular tourist towns in the UK. It is in the beautiful Derwent Valley on the edge of the wonderful Peak District National Park and close to Chatsworth and Haddon Hall.

It’s a growing town with a proud history and has excellent transport links with Sheffield, Chesterfield and Derby.

We are surrounded by beautiful countryside with Beeley Moor in the North and Stanton Moor to the West, nature-rich woodland trails through Holt Wood and Hallmoor and peaceful riverside walks along the beautiful River Derwent.

The jewel in the crown is The Whitworth, a fabulous Victorian building, which is set in an expansive park.

Darley Dale Town Council

Darley Dale Town Council is here to serve our residents, businesses, tourists and visitors, alike, who we welcome to our community.

Councillors are local residents who care passionately about the town; as volunteers they receive no salary or expenses.

You can contact our 11 councillors by click here or you can contact the Town Clerk for more general enquiries.
